STRAP is an ANR-funded project for trans-disciplinary collaboration to investigate volcano plumes risks, involving volcanologists and atmospheric scientists combining expertise to (i) reduce the large uncertainties in the characterisation of the key volcanic source terms, e.g. mass discharge rate and composition of the gas and particles mixture erupted from the vent and (ii) improve understanding of the plume processing and atmospheric impacts, particularly from volcanic particles. LPC2E is an external project partner bringing specific expertise on miniature gas sensors for deployment on drones, and on the near-source plume atmospheric chemistry.
